Day 2: Wild Herbs Walk, Liqueurs, Absinth, Picnic and Chocolates

Today we are taking a priviliged tour of nature’s bounty, and the beautiful drinks made from wild and cultivated herbs and plants. This tour is a unique way to understand the relationship between the local Provencal flora a fine drink enjoyed around the dinner table.

Part I
Morning Wild Herbs Walk & Elegant Picnic in the Wild

In the morning, we will be escorted through an enchanting preserve of wild herbs and plants. The nature walk will allow us to understand the culture of the Provencal, as well as the art and products that ultimately evolve from this interplay of man and nature. A magical picnic follows the walk.

Part 2
The Rebirth of a Legendary Drink and Ceremony

Absinth is a mythical drink of France that has been reintroduced into the culture by a local “liquoriste” named Pascal Rolland. Monsieur Rolland invites you to be his guest at his place of production where you will discover some of the legends of this mythical drink, its actual production, and the ceremony of how this convivial drink is enjoyed. Aside from his absinths, Monsieur Rolland produces an array of aperitifs and digestifs, recognized world-wide for their outstanding quality.

The day is capped off at a nearby famous chocolaterie, where a special tour and tasting has been arranged for us.
