The Scents of Provence

Day 1: The Haute Provence (Upper Provence)

Lavender, Truffles, Thyme, Olives, Garrigue, Nougat, and much more

The Haute Provence is an area that has been graciously protected from the deluge of tourists that rains down on the lower-lying areas of Provence. Yet it is still a short drive from large cities and neighbors the famous Luberon. Because of its proximity, and the special spirit and flavor the Haute Provence has been able to maintain, we have created a flavorful tour of the area. You will experience a special selection of visits which best express the beauty and personality of this preserved region.

Each of our stops (with an exception in the case of Occitane) will be an encounter with a local who has been crafting his or her trade through generations. You will have the unique opportunity to learn from a true artisan or farmer about their exceptional products and a rare chance to know about life in authentic Provence.
