This is how good the food is there: Diane, a good customer of mine, overheard a couple standing in one of the long lines at the food trucks at the Treasure Island Flea Market. They were saying that this was the second time they’d been to the Treasure Island Flea, but hadn’t been to the market booths yet. The first time they came it was only to have lunch at the trucks.

I am here to witness how fantastic the food really is at the trucks. Creative, delicious, and often “high integrity” food – organic and local.
Here’s a really nice way to start your market: have a handcrafted Drip! coffee served up by the kind proprietor, Michael. One cup will keep your eagle eye for treasures in top form & up your charm level to give you the edge when negotiating down prices. Drip! will be at Alameda this Sunday – yay!
When I got my morning coffee, the coffee roaster happened to be there. Talk about artisanal.

For lunch, consider the delectable Asian delights that come out of this fabulous red truck, The Chairman Truck, one of the better known and reputed food trucks of San Francisco. I had the vegetarian steamed bun – fantastic. Buntastic.

I haven’t had a chance to eat here yet, but I loved the look and concept of Le Truc. Another sweet paint job, and the singular dining experience of eating in the refabbed school bus next to open kitchen, and by the way, with a billion dollar view of the SF skyline beyond the bay.
Next Flea, I’m venturing out to the organic truck.
Stay tuned for the next post: see the first important purchase made for my vintage trailer + first Burning Man buy of the year.

Great food at a great flea market sounds like heaven!
How about Beth’s Organic Cocktail truck? You’d make one hell of a cute recycled trailer, I’m sure.
